Build 2.9.20150108-nightly breaks ability to set tab title at command line

What steps will reproduce the problem?
- install Build 2.9.20150108-nightly
- open new iterm window. Tab title says 'Shell'
- run my shell script 'swn' to set tab title to 'currie-g4'
What is the expected output?
tab title changes to 'currie-g4'
What do you see instead?
tab title stays at 'Shell'
What version of iTerm2 are you using?
Build 2.9.20150108-nightly
What OS version are you using?
10.10.1
