With Input Broadcast, remote vim opens in Replace mode

What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Open new window
- Split it into two with Cmd-D
- ssh into two different machines
- Start input broadcast for current tab only
- Open vim on existing file (I used /etc/hosts)
What is the expected output?
In two splits, two vim sessions start in "NORMAL" mode
What do you see instead?
In two splits, two vim sessions start in "REPLACE" mode
What version of iTerm2 are you using?
Build 2.9.20141117-nightly
What OS version are you using?
10.10.1
Please provide any additional information below.
When disabling the broadcast, in each session vim starts in "NORMAL" mode
