Shortcut-key spawned profile does not appear in configure 'space' (Spaces)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Ensure General preferences has "Use Lion-style Fullscreen windows" disabled
- Create profile whose window settings include "Space 2"
- Assign shortcut key (e.g. 'C')
- Create Space 2 if not already exists
- Switch to Space 1
- Open normal window in Space 1
- Hit CTRL-ALT-CMD-'C' to activate profile
What is the expected output?
Switches to Space 2 but new terminal window has been opened in Space 1.
What do you see instead?
Switches to Space 2 and opens new terminal window in Space 2.
What version of iTerm2 are you using?
What OS version are you using?
10.9.3
Please provide any additional information below.
This did use to work but it stopped in an update, apologies I can't be specific on the version that did work. It is possible this broke when upgrading to Mavericks, but I seem to recall it broke beforehand, but can't be certain.
