Find is not reliable when output changes
By y...@schli.ch on September 20, 2012 13:14 (imported from Google Code)
Searching for something while the output changes does not find new text.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Open new window and run: cat /etc/group
- CMD-f and search for: 20
- CMD-f again (or ESC) to close the find panel
- CMD-g and verify that multiple results are found
- cat /etc/passwd
- CMD-g and verify that NONE of the search results in passwd are found
- CMD-k to clear the buffer and cat /etc/passwd
- CMD-g now selects all kind of wrong locations
- CMD-f and type 20 again
- Now the results from passwd are found
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Searching should ALWAYS search in the whole buffer. Instead it seems the search simply remembers the results when the search was issued and is never updates.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0.0.20120724
MacOSX 10.8.1

This happened to me when tail -f on some log file, and searching for some expected output. Which turned up after some time, but it was never found due to this bug.
