Dim via opacity %

Instead of (or in addition) to the existing dimming via color shifting, would it be possible to add an alternate dim mode, which adjusts opacity based on a window's focus?
For example, I personally would prefer if the window i'm actually using has little to no transparency. I would love if the background windows could be set to a lower opacity so they are nearly transparent when inactive, instead of changing their color.
I would love to dig in and help implement this myself, however I haven't gotten around to upgrading to Lion and am still on XCode and IB 3.2x so I don't want to mess anything up.
I did at least add-in some of the boring definitions for adding a TRANSPARENCY_INACT key under the existing TRANSPARENCY key, as well as a slider definition for the Appearance pref tab. Git diff attached of my local commit. I imagine this as a slider underneath the Dimming slider, called Transparency Dimming. It would use similar hooks as that one's color dimming, to toggle between transparency % / inactive transparency %.
The animation obviously would just be a bonus since it'd be handled differently with opacity, I'd settle for a simple toggle between active and inactive levels first! You're way more awesome than I ever will be for making this sweet app :)
