Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
1. I've got 3 monitors (screens) connected to my macos, this is how the arrangement look like: https://imgur.com/a/0Q5FM
2. settings are: Profile -> [hotkey window] tab 'Window' -> Screen: Screen with cursor
3. slide down animation for hotkey window works only on two, top screens. When opening the iterm on one screen below, it does only 'fade in'. If I will switch Window to 'Main screen' which is screen underneath the 2 on the top, it still behaves in the same way.

First of all, thanks for the fast response to #6050 and owning up to the mistake. It's unfortunately rare for someone to step up and say "I messed up" these. I've been an iTerm user for years and really appreciate the work that goes into keeping the project moving forward, so I hope this situation hasn't made you want to quit.
Now that the problem is fixed, I think it would be worthwhile to do a post-mortem. My hope is that this will benefit both the iTerm project and other projects whose maintainers are keeping an eye on this situation. [dnslookupissue](https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/wikis/dnslookupissue) on the wiki begins this process.
A few questions I think are worth addressing:
1. Why did [#3688](https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/issues/3688) and [#5303](https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/issues/5303) go unnoticed by the community? Both issues were addressed but didn't blow up the way this one did.
2. What steps can be taken to make sure this (or similarly significant issues) doesn't happen in the future?
3. What can the community do to help when something like this does happen? I've heard a lot of yelling about how we should all uninstall iTerm, but that's just silly and not helpful. What else can we do?https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/-/issues/6066after update tabs with color are surrounded by ugly black-white border2017-09-28T18:37:40ZJörn Heesafter update tabs with color are surrounded by ugly black-white border![image](/uploads/72bef5125a698aacc1e282b87c92e57d/image.png)

Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Create Term window 37 rows x 100 columns. "stty -a" reports this and can count on screen.
2. Use less to view a file of length > 110 lines and at least some lines longer than 100 columns.
3.
What happened: The top 1 or more lines are off the top of the window and cannot be scrolled into view. The top visible line is second or third line of the file. Numerous commands in less to move it further to the beginning of the file fail to change the situation. Less thinks it is showing the first line, on-ward, but the terminal won't display it. Resizing the window results in no change.
What should have happened: top of the file should be visible at the top of the screen.
Note, this task used to work fine in iterm2. It was the last few months when I noticed it appear. So, one of the last few releases introduced this behavior.https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/-/issues/6032A larger grab area would improve usability2019-05-14T17:50:12ZNicholasA larger grab area would improve usability* iTerm2 version: 3.0.14

3. Wow golly that grab area is incredibly narrow
What happened: I spend a few seconds attempting to get my cursor on the one or three pixel high area where the cursor turns into a hand and I can drag
What should have happened: the drag area is, oh, maybe nine or fifteen pixels high which is a target hittable by human beings
This drag-area size might come from OSX, I don't know, but it is in iTerm2 where I have by far the most problem getting the cursor into the right place to drag. It's difficult and I have to do it all the time.

I would suggest:
- to extend the inline image protocol to enable retina display:
* auto (settings default)
* force non-retina
* force retina
- to introduce an option in the preferences that allows to overrule the protocol and force either non-retina or retina.Review for next versionhttps://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/-/issues/6028iTerm2 radically changes the background colour set in Emacs2017-09-15T04:51:40ZPeter HillerströmiTerm2 radically changes the background colour set in EmacsThe problem is that iTerm2 shows completely wrong colour for a background colour set in Emacs customization.

I am used to using the Middle Click to paste on my Linux boxes. iterm2 allows me to mimic that to some extent if I turn on "Copy to pasteboard on selection" and use "Paste from Clipboard" to paste. However, I don't want every selection attempt to end up on the clipboard (I use a third-party Clipboard history manager). The feature I imagine would do the following on activation:
* If there is a selection in the terminal, paste that in.
* If there is no selection paste in the contents of the clipboard.
With this feature, if I need to send something to another application, I can still do that by hitting cmd-c, I don't pollute my clipboard history, and paste still works the way I would expect.Review for next version
