Informative logs are written to `/var/log/system.log` when you use iTerm2's secure copy feature. Have a look at what is written there to get a clue of what else might be going on. If you file an issue, please include this information.
In version 3.3.0 and later, automatic profile switching can write debug logs to the script console. To view logs, turn on **Prefs > Profiles > Advanced > Write Automatic Profile Switching debug logs to Script Console**. Then select **Scripts > Manage > Console**. Choose *Automatic Profile Switching* on the left. Ensure the **Logs** tab is selected on the right.
