Restoring tmux session happens in the attaching window no matter which setting I choose
Thanks for filing an issue! Please answer the questions below so I can help you.
- iTerm2 version: 3.4.4beta2
- OS version: macOS Catalina 10.15.7
- Attach ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist here (drag-drop from finder into this window) com.googlecode.iterm2.plist
- Attach a debug log, if possible. Instructions at https://iterm2.com/debuglog
- Attach a screen capture video if it would make the reproduction steps clearer.
- Are you reporting a performance issue, excessive CPU usage, or a hang? Please attach a sample. Instructions at https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/wikis/HowToSample
- Are you reporting a crash? Please attach the crash log. Instructions at https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/wikis/crash-logs
- Are you reporting excessive memory usage? Please attach a heap analysis: https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/wikis/heapshot
PLEASE ATTACH YOUR PLIST FILE FOR BUG REPORTS! Seriously! I'll probably ask you for it if you don’t.
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
- Login to a server where you have an existing tmux session
- Run 'tmux -CC attach'
What happened: My session restored in the same window, as tabs within the attaching window.
What should have happened: In 'settings -> tmux' tab, my "When attaching, restore window as" is set to "native tabs in a new window." It should pop up a new window with my existing tmux session.
Note, I tried changing this setting to "native windows" and I tried changing to "tabs in the attaching window" and changing it back. It seems to use "tabs in the attaching window" no matter what now.
iTerm2 updated this morning, and this wasn't happening before today.
