Is command-clicking filenames supposed to include line-numbers?

More of a question of understanding, I can turn this into a bug report if this is indeed a bug. (also I guess most information hasn't changed from my report 3 weeks ago)

I wondered for a while now but iTerm does include :123 line numbers in the highlighting but it doesn't appear to transmit this information to the editor. Is it supposed to?

Take this example:

It does open in Sublime but on line 1. Invoking subl /Users/.../known_hosts:273 it does jump to the line correctly.

EDIT: This appears to be because this file has no extension? It does work properly with files that have an extension linked to sublime.
