Can't update iTerm2, update server seems to be broken

  • iTerm2 version: 3.3.12
  • OS version: 11.0.1

Sorry for not filling out most of the issue template, but this is less an issue with the app not working and more of a heads up that the update server might be borked.

While manually updating a bunch of non-MAS apps today, I noticed that iTerm2 consistently fails to update. The "Checking for updates…" window takes ages until it (sometimes) shows the window with the changelog (which doesn't load), but most of the time, it just directly goes to this:

Additionally, trying to download 3.4.0 from https://www.iterm2.com/downloads.html similarly always fails with the download (if it even manages to start) failing after only a few MB.

FWIW, I restarted both my router and my Mac, so I'm reasonably certain that the issue is not on my end.
