cmd-click to edit REMOTE files
With shell integration, I can cmd-click on a filename on my local machine to open it in my preferred editor. But when I'm ssh'd somewhere else, that shortcut instead downloads the file.
I'd like to be able to cmd-click to open a remote file in my local editor. I.e., it would use the shell integration (it2dl
) to get the file, hand it off to my editor, then it2ul
the file back in place whenever saved.
I understand that it's possible to pass the remote path to an 'open' command, as described in this post from three years ago. That's not what I want, because most of the time for me the remote path is not accessible directly from my machine via sftp; I'm connecting through intermediate hosts.
