Incorrect tab titles after update to 3.3.3
Thanks for filing an issue! Please answer the questions below so I can help you.
- iTerm2 version: 3.3.3
- OS version: OSX Mojave 10.14.6
What happened: after update to 3.3.3 tab titles seem to be displayed improperly
For example: I have proxy script for starting mycli utility located in /usr/local/bin/mycli. This is actually a python script with shebang string in the beginning (#!/usr/local/Cellar/mycli/1.20.1/libexec/bin/python3.7
). In version 3.3.2 the tab title was "mycli" which was pretty correct for me. Now it is "python3.7" which is useless and says nothing about what is actually done in the tab.
Looks like something has changed in new version because I see this in changelog for 3.3.3:
- Change the default tab/window title to show the job name.
What should have happened: Please return previous behaviour, so in my case just script name will be displayed (i.e. "mycli") (or just add some option in settings to return it)
UPD: after discussion with @ejm it became clear that setting is already present, but it's better to retain previous behaviour on update from older versions.
Additional information: playing with various options for tab title in settings did not help to achieve desired result.
