Fonts thinner with GPU rendering

- iTerm2 version: Build 3.2.20181001 (from the other issue thread)
- OS version: 10.13.6
- Attach ~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist here (drag-drop from finder into this window) com.googlecode.iterm2.plist
- Attach a debug log, if possible. Instructions at https://iterm2.com/debuglog debuglog.txt
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem:
- Update to latest iTerm2 (or even later than latest, in this case)
- Turn on GPU rendering
- Fonts are thinner than before
What happened: Fonts are thinner than before
What should have happened: Fonts should look the same as in the previous version
You (@gnachman)instructed @gcp1 to open a new issue from #7144 (closed), having seen their comment on #7128 (closed). I'm not gcp1, but the 3.2.20181001 version you provided in #7144 (closed) also did not solve the issue for me. So I figured I'd make the new issue and get the ball rolling! Answers to the questions posed in the other issue:

Did you make any changes to how text is rendered, such as with a
defaults write
command? I have done this in the past, but don't recall if I've done it on this current installation of macOS. How can I check? -

Do you have System Prefs > General > Use font smoothing when available enabled? Yes
