tmux integration: Change pane title format string
- iTerm2 version: Build 3.2.0beta7
- OS version: 10.13.5 (17F77
When using tmux -CC
with multiple sessions I often end up confused as to which splits (panes) and tabs (windows) belong to which session, especially if I end up accidentally mixing tmux sessions in the same iTerm2 window.
I notice that all the TMUX integrated pane titles begin with →
and assumed this was coming from tmux show-options -g set-titles-string
which I see gets set to something different from my ~/.tmux.conf
. I'd like to change the pane titles to (e.g.) include host and session names. Something like: #{H} #{S} #{W} #{T}
(no doubt I'd cut it down to something less verbose once I get a feel for it).
Is it possible to control this already?
Notes:
- I tried using
tmux set-option -g automatic-rename-format
to control the pane title, but it doesn't appear to have any affect when using TMUX integration (but it does affect ordinary tmux invocations). - Even if it did work, there are still cases where an explicit name has been set and that won't include the session / host name hints I'd like iTerm2 to display.
