CTRL-C No longer works in SSH

What steps will reproduce the problem?
- ssh into a server
- tail a log file
- try to hit CTRL-C
What is the expected output?
it should terminate the tail command
What do you see instead?
no matter how many times you press CTRL-C or hold it down, it doesn't kill the program
What version of iTerm2 are you using?
Build 1.0.0.20131124
What OS version are you using?
10.8.5 Build 12F45
Please provide any additional information below.
This was never an issue before, a recent update to iTerm2 broke this functionality that has always worked for years.
