Allow terminal size lock

I work on a system which needs a fixed terminal size (80x24). Putty has the option to allow the font size to be adjusted when the screen is resized while leaving the terminal dimensions fixed. Thus when the window is maximized or set to full-screen the font size is increased. This is really a critical function on the one particular legacy system as the programs don't handle terminal sizes other then 80x24.
This is also useful for me as I can make the screen much easier to read by going full screen. (I have bad vision so I do this frequently. Leaving the font size really large all the time isn't practical since it makes the windows take too much space).
For whatever reason Putty is the ONLY terminal application to ever implement this, and even then ONLY in the Windows version. I run VMware just to use Putty for this reason.
The original iTerm had this option, albeit in a clumsy way (you had to set it from the menu every time). Apparently it was removed from iTerm2 at some point.
I would like to this this feature implemented enough that I would pay a reasonable, but generous amount in the form of a donation to make it happen. Make me an offer.
Thanks.
