a fullscreen mode that would work well with transparency

iterm2 has two fullscreen modes, a non-lion-style and a lion-style one.
If you want to use transparency with fullscreen mode, the lion-style mode makes it useless because OSX will not put a desktop background on a space that is only for a fullscreen app.
Using non-lion-style fullscreen mode, transparency works, but all your windows are stacked on top of each other, so this makes transparency also less than ideal. Of course, what I do is make spaces in expose and drag the individual fullscreen windows to each space, this works well.
However, I would like to propose a new fullscreen mode that would make this much easier. When you enter full screen, iterm2 would make a new space (with a desktop) and put your window on it automatically.
