Add Ability to have iTerm reload the preferences from file
By john.bra...@rally.org on February 27, 2012 23:43 (imported from Google Code)
While iterm2 is open, any change to the preferences plist (either via the 'defaults' cmd or swapping the plist for another) is lost when iterm2 exits since it writes to the plist on exit. Would be nice for a hotkey that tells iterm2 to reload the preferences.
The use case I have is that I am trying to script the installation and maintenance of iterm's preferences using chef-soloist. If running soloist inside of iterm, any changes are lost which forces any user (if they want updated iterm2 preferences) to run soloist from osx terminal while iterm2 is not running. The other use case would be to initially seed the preferences and have it use PrefsCustomFolder, but then updates to that file would not used until iterm is restarted (which is annoying for most users).
