Tabs and sessions are not the same

When having panes in a tab, each pane is a session... at that point, using AppleScript to launch a new session with When having panes in a tab, each pane is a session... at that point, using AppleScript to launch a new session with launch session "Default"When having panes in a tab, each pane is a session... at that point, using AppleScript to launch a new session with `launch session "Default" launches the new session fine, but instead of returning the correct session, it returns it as if the session was the same as the tab number the command created.
For example open a terminal then split the view a couple times as to have three panes in that tab (that means three sessions). Using AppleScript to tell the iTem2 terminal to launch a new session, it creates a new tab with a new session, but the returned session ID is "2" instead of "4" (as it should, since there are three sessions already open in the first tab and the newly open session in the second tab, is in fact session "4")
