Unable to run C# projects when the assembly name ends with ".Service"
Bug report
Thanks for filing an issue! Please answer the questions below so I can help you.
- iTerm2 version: 3.4.22
- OS version: macOS Sonoma 14.1
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem
Details collected here: https://github.com/dluc/iterm2-dotnet-bug
What happened
When a .NET project builds to a file ending in .Service
, the executable fails to run from iTerm2 console, with exit code 137.
For some reason, renaming the exe file fixes the problem: cd bin/Debug/net6.0 && mv FooBar.Service FooBar.Service.renamed && ./FooBar.Service.renamed
Are "*.Service" files something special in iTerm2?
Everything works fine in Terminal.app instead.
