New Tab Button in Focused Window using Regular Theme Lacks Transparency in Light Mode
Bug report
Thanks for filing an issue! Please answer the questions below so I can help you.
- iTerm2 version: 3.4.16
- OS version: 12.5 (21G72)
- Attach
~/Library/Preferences/com.googlecode.iterm2.plist
here (drag-drop from finder into this window) - Attach a debug log, if possible.
- Attach a screen capture video if it would make the reproduction steps clearer.
PLEASE ATTACH YOUR PLIST FILE FOR BUG REPORTS! Seriously! I'll probably ask you for it if you don’t. com.googlecode.iterm2.plist
Detailed steps to reproduce the problem
- Have macOS in "Light Mode" or "Automatic" during daylight hours (bug not observed in Dark mode)
- Use the "Regular" theme for iTerm windows
- Enable any amount of window transparency in the active iTerm profile's windows
- Either open more than one tab or enable the option to always show the tab bar
- Observe the new tab button while the window is focused (a dark background helps)
What happened
The new tab button is colored oddly (see screenshots). It seems it may not be inheriting the window transparency setting, not inheriting the correct color, or both.
What should have happened
The new tab button should have the same transparency/color as the rest of the tab bar whether or not window transparency is enabled.
iTerm when focused (no transparency/incorrect color on new tab button)
iTerm when unfocused (correct color on new tab button)
iTerm without transparency via window-capture screenshot (correct color on new tab button)
iTerm without transparency via window preferences in profile (correct color on new tab button)
Apple Terminal when focused with transparency enabled (as comparison, correct color)
