What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Configure iTerm2 20120123 with tmux precompiled 20120108 (session starts "tmux -C")
2. two windows open, one a control window with a menu, the other a shell in a tmux session
3. in the control window, hit escape.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected is to be detached from the tmux session and that window closes, unsure what to expect from the control window if it is to close or remain open as a normal shell.
What I instead see is the crash message from OS-X appear, system frozen, hold power down to power off the system. 100% reproducible as well which was somewhat annoying as Lion will restart windows open after a crash, so I ended up having the same thing happen three times in a row.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OS-X Lion, all up to date as of today. iTerm2 20120123 and tmux precompiled 20120108 from here, installed the library dependency for tmux via homebrew (same version of library, so should be okay).
Please provide any additional information below.
Unsure how to read OS-X crash traces, but I'm guessing this is a refcount issue where something increments once, but decrements twice for some reason. tmux is the culprit if I'm reading the crash trace below right.
Here's the OS-X crash trace.

2. install the precompiled tmux 20120108
3. attempt to use the "tmux" profile or use tmux with iTerm2
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected would be that I get a genuine tmux session and I can detach from it using the iTerm2 menu options, but I can not. I get a plain shell instead, no tmux features.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OS-X Lion with latest updates applied. iTerm2 20120123, tmux from the iTerm2 website, precompiled version. The additional library that tmux required I installed via homebrew (same version, so should be correct). iTerm .plist removed and allowed to recreate, twice, no difference.
Please provide any additional information below.
I really don't get it, I have followed the instructions for how to install these bits and it's like iTerm2 don't see/use tmux properly. It's installed in /usr/local/bin/ and I can use it by hand without problems. It's just that the features in iTerm2 that should make use of tmux is not really seeing it or making use of it. Very strange.
Let me know if there is anything you want me to try, I'm game to try some patches etc.

Hi,
Right now it is possible to move an existing session to a split pane in any open window. However, it doesn't seem possible to "detach" a session to its own tab/window. So what I find myself doing most of the time is creating a new window, moving the session to a split pane in that new window, and deleting the first pane. I wish their was a simpler way.

Hello all. Since the update today, Iterm2 no longer opens the default tab on start up. When i force it to open a new tap, it opens one called tmux, a seemingly newly created tab since the update. When setting one of my profiles as the default it doesn't remember this. Nor does it remember any settings I change to this new tmux tab.

1. In preferences->general, I have "open default window arrangement" checked, and in preferences->appearance I have "show profile name" unchecked.

3. Start iterm2. A single terminal window opens and looks okay, except that the profile name is in the window name. If I open a 2nd iterm2 window the profile name is NOT in the window name. This appears to be a bug with just the first window opened.

I'm using the show/hide Hotkey to display a Profile which has the style "Top of Screen". If I split the panes vertically, change between tabs and back to this split tab, the show/hide Hotkey does not set the focus inside the pane but on the close button. To type text into the pane I have to click inside the pane. If you just type and press the space bar, the pane will get closed.

I thought iTerm2 was supposed to open a new window when it launches. That's what the help docs say. "When you first start iTerm2, a window opens showing a terminal session."
Instead, I see no evidence that iTerm2 launched except the app title in the menu bar and the little glowing indicator under the app icon in the dock.
Prior to this update, launching the app would open a new session window. Is it the new version? Is it a configuration conflict?
