Gist rendering on OS X app obscures text entry, repaints poorly

I have recently noticed a problem displaying inline gist contents using the OS X Gitter app. The expanded rendering of the gist covers the text entry area and prevents it from updating and repainting properly. It also causes repaint artifacts at the top of the window. Screenshot provided.
