Can't login with Element and GitHub app on Android

As discussed on Twitter,

I have an older Android Phone and I use the GitHub app that opens all the links (not sure how to turn that off). When I log in to Gitter with the Element app it doesn't show the login page.

The interface is translated into Polish but you should figure out from context what is what. This may be an issue with the Element application that doesn't work with links that are handled by the application. If this is the case please report the issue to that project. After investigation, you will probably know more about the issue than I do.
