Left-menu doesn't collapse in macOS desktop app (pinned)

When I use the "hamburger" on the bottom-left to hide the list of conversations, I'd expect the current room's conversations to expand to fill the empty space. Instead, I get a large empty area, and still very narrow text.

I'm on Gitter 1.177 for Mac, though I see the same behavior on Windows.

Use the latest NW.js version of the app instead,
