Feedback for the Workshop planning process from a coach perspective
As a coach of one of the Workshops during this Contribute, I have the following feedback for it:
Consider doing the planning process async: Some sync calls were scheduled to ensure all coaches deliver the workshop in the best way possible (which is absolutely great), but I believe we can achieve the same result following an async process:
- As an example for the "Presenters RoundUp" call, less than 50% of the people invited attended the call. Probably because people had no capacity at the time, or because the call was scheduled outside office hours for some of them. An idea to improve this could be to do the "Presenters RoundUp" through an issue, and ping coaches in there.
Considering sharing the list of people attending the workshop in advance, this would allow the coach to gauge the audience prior to the workshop.
Consider emailing the pre-requisites (if any) to the attendees in advance: For the Git & Merge Requests 101, some people show up without the pre-requisites which slow down the pace of other attendees.
- Create a handbook page with all the process a Workshop should follow. We can get the initial content from https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qs0e4AJj5fsHA5_SIkNkDlkbeBROfDVbPL_JFX3idqs/edit#heading=h.xtopb4fe5irk
- Create a handbook page with the public speaker best practices that Priyanka showed up on the "Presenters RoundUp" call
- Create an issue template on the Contribute repo with all the steps coaches need to follow (Like #61 (comment 159508860))
I'm putting the issue here as I wasn't sure where to provide feedback for this, but we can move it!
