What's this issue all about? (Background and context)
Previous research surfaced the JTBDs for the groups in Govern ( Discover JTBD for the Security Policies group (#2223 - closed), Discover JTBD for Compliance Group (#2367 - closed), Further understand the job of prioritizing secu... (#2195 - closed) ), and some strategic opportunities have been surfaced and worked on ( JTBD-Informed Heuristic Evaluation: Understand ... (#2476 - closed), gitlab#411861, gitlab#416593, gitlab#416600). Still, each group and the larger Govern stage as a whole needs to understand the priority of all current and future opportunities for improvements.
The aim of this issue then is to understand the relative importance for each of the users' desired outcomes so that we can more accurately prioritization work that provides solutions for those outcomes. This will be done by creating a survey using the outcome driven innovation methods described in the JTBD Playbook by Jim Kalbach which builds on the needs, or outcomes, of the various Jobs to Be Done for each group.
What are the overarching goals for the research?
For each group and their corresponding needs:
- On a scale of 1 - 10, where 10 is the most important, how important is the need to the typical user?
- On a scale of 1 - 10, where 10 is the most satisfied, how satisfied is the user in that need being met?
- Are there are any needs that are not being satisfied enough and are of high or moderate importance?
What business decisions will be made based on this information?
This work will help prioritize future roadmaps for the govern stage.
