Process for categorizing SUS verbatim by stages
Hey managers
After completing the first round of categorizing the SUS verbatim by stages #1645 (closed), I spoke with @asmolinski2 if there might be ways to make the process more efficient, as having each PDM read almost every single verbatim takes up a lot of time collectively, and we came up with the following idea:
Suggestion
Each quarter a different Product Design Manager is going to take the lead and does the categorization for the entire document by themselves. Because the sheets for verbatim per stage get automatically filled, each other PDM could then easily just go over their items and keep themselves up date on how our users talk about their features.
I would volunteer for being the first one to do this, and I would also offer shadowing anybody who doesn't yet feel comfortable having to categorize items for other stages.
Upsides
- Efficiency and saving time.
- Consistent categorization and process (e.g. for primary/secondary and when to assign Unsure or N/A).
- Process will be quicker and smoother, this time we had to wait an extra week just for me as I was coming back from vacation.
Downsides
- Not every PDM will have to read every single verbatim each quarter anymore. They can still do so, but it's not required anymore.
- Might feel overwhelming for PDMs who don't feel like they have complete overview over all stages yet.
