Add guidance on common questions for the Reference Architectures

Now that the Reference Architectures are established we're starting to see what common questions get asked. Some of these are already answered in docs but others aren't such as alternative design patterns that we wouldn't recommend for various reasons.

We should add guidance here for these areas in the docs to reduce questions and have a SSOT.

Task is to do just that.
