@gislif started a discussion: (+1 comment) Just for clarity...If an OS is being upgraded between two releases, let's say Ubuntu 16.04 to 20.04, is it necessary to install Gitlab for each upgrade (from 16 to 18 and from 18 to 20) or is one install at the end enough?

curl -o /tmp/gl-script.deb.sh \ https://packages.gitlab.com/install/repositories/gitlab/gitlab-ee/script.deb.sh vim /tmp/gl-script.deb.sh # review the code # only then sudo bash /tmp/gl-script.deb.sh
or similar might be better, but we don't need to decide it here.
Let's continue this one in gitlab#27391 (comment 557017999)

@katrinleinweber started a discussion: (+2 comments) Some OSs require all installed software to be up-to-date before doing a release upgrade. It's faster to upgrade GitLab first, and again after the OS upgrade. Upgrading GitLab from the new package source URL after each step of a multi-version OS upgrade is not necessary.
