Create an AWS Marketplace Listing for GitLab Premium
We need to add a listing for GitLab Premium to the AWS Marketplace to use for private offers.
In working with the sales team we have multiple opportunities in negotiations where the customer has requested to have it go through AWS Marketplace.

Will continue to add opportunities to support the work required to do this.
Today we have a GitLab Ultimate listing available for 5 users, this listing would be the same but for just the Premium product set.
The reason for doing this is that when the customer gets the private offer listing, the title of the SKU will be the same as the listing we create the private offer from. With only having a Ultimate listing, we are going to cause customer confusion asking them to "buy/subscribe" to Ultimate when they have agreed to Premium. This will add unnecessary friction to the buying process as it makes it unclear of what the customer will be renewing for in the future.
We are using Alliances Issue 6 as a reference for building this.
Details for the listing:
Title:
GitLab Premium
This is a change from the Ultimate listing which includes number of users. Will open a separate issue to change that listing to remove "5 Users" from the SKU name.
This change was recommended by AWS as a way to simplify the user experience for the creation of Private Offers. When one is created it takes on the name of the listing it is cloned from. Doing this will allow the customer to see the tier they are purchasing and the number of users will be included terms they agree with us. For self service customers they will see that it defaults to 5 users in the product description, and see the email alias to request additional users or to true up.
Product Description:
GitLab Premium is a single application for the entire DevOps lifecycle. GitLab provides project planning, source code management, CI/CD, and monitoring in a single application enabling concurrent DevOps to make the software development lifecycle 200% faster.
This listing is for 5 GitLab users only. For additional users and to support true-up charges please contact GitLab Sales directly to facilitate a Private Offer at: aws-sales@gitlab.com
Pricing:
Should mirror the model we used for Ultimate (see Issue https://gitlab.com/gitlab-com/alliances/aws/gitlab-tracker/issues/6). Goal of this listing is (1) for a customer to be able to self service a 5 user licenses of GitLab and (2) a base for creating a private offer of GitLab. For the private offer, this is more about having a mechanism to bill the customer and then provide the customer with a license for the negotiated number of users and guidance on the correct architecture to support this number of users. We do not expect a customer to use this AMI to run a large number of users as a single instance.
Tasks:
-
Create an AMI with Premium Licenses in it. -
Publish a Product Listing within the AWS Marketplace Portal.
