Import and Integrations groups merging
Name for the merged group
~"group::import" and ~"group::integrations" are merging. I believe we need to find a new merged group name that describes both the work of the Import and Integrations.
The current situation is as such:
Group::Import owns the categories:
Group::Integrations owns the categories:
Please propose names in the thread below.
What needs to be done
I'm listing here what I think needs to be done apart from choosing the new group name:
-
to make it more manageable, make sure all current ~"group::import" issues have one of the category labels Category:Importers, Category:Internationalization assigned -
similar, make sure all current ~"group::integrations" issues have one of the category labels Category:Integrations, Category:Webhooks, Category:API assigned -
follow handbook page about name changes https://about.gitlab.com/handbook/product/categories/#daily-digest-raw-schema-changes -
establish common planning issue -
decide if we want to establish common weekly meeting or keep two separate meetings at first -
establish common monthly planning meeting -
possibly bi-weekly social meeting -
anything else? -
Integrations Roulette recommendations (example: gitlab-org/gitlab!115352 (comment 1322382854)): Will need to update the matching based on group name our data file. We'll also need to change the group to @mentionhere and labels here (perhaps to Category:Integrations instead?) -
Find a new home for the integrations (internal) development guides https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/manage/integrations/team#integrations-development-guides.
Questions
- Does the new merged group keep all the stable counterparts, the counterparts of ~"group::import" and ~"group::integrations" as listed here and here, or are only the current stable counterpart that ~"group::import" has staying on board of the merged group?
- Shall we keep separate Slack channels for now or should we merged them?
