OpenShift Documentation Placement.

Background

We need to make a determination of where the OpenShift Documentation will live. This has spurred a deeper conversation. The OpenShift Documentation doesn't belong in any of our current documentation verticals as it's a new product category. So, regardless, we're going to have to create a new documentation vertical.

Potential Options:

  • A new OpenShift Operator Documentation vertical. This would be locked to specifically OpenShift Operator Documentation, it would not allow us to speak to Kubernetes or OpenShift General Documentation. It would also be a narrow category. However, we could do it with little buy in from other teams.

  • A new OpenShift General Documentation vertical. This would be OpenShift Specific and we could include all details around OpenShift. We could do this with little buy in from other teams. However it would lack Kubernetes documentation.

  • A new Kubernetes Documentation vertical with documentation sections for the Kubernetes and OpenShift Operator work. It could also include a OpenShift General Documentation section to cover basic OpenShift Concepts. This method would be expansive and informative but may require buy in from other teams.
