Message deletion reason (feedback)
Add ability for room admins to add a deletion reason message that gets passed to the message author (feedback).
When the message is deleted, it would disappear for everyone else. For the message author, they would see a greyed-out state(on-hold) and they can amend/correct their message and re-post. The deletion reason would be shown below so the user knows what to correct.
This can help in situations where a user asks a bad question without enough info which needs to be updated before actually being applicable for others to be able to help. If people are taking away time by not asking well constructed questions, then no one will answer and that will be the trend even for people who come with good questions because people will be tired of reading that room.
Currently, when an admin deletes a message, it just disappears with no way to recover it from the users perspective. The user can think that the message just failed to send and try to post the same thing again or get mad that they lost what they wrote in their message.
Currently, there isn't a way to give feedback to the user effectively:
- Posting directly in the room carries weight because onlookers will waste time reading
- Using a one to one conversation can work but requires a lot of manual work/effort to keep up
