Create (PDF) reports from issue lists, boards, milestones, epics, MRs
Description
GitLab can visualize a lot of entities in the system: issues, milestones, epics, MRs, ...). Sometimes, we have a telephone meeting and our partner cannot or will not use a screen sharing service. At other events, we are offline, so we need hands-on material. In other use cases, our partner is not skilled enough to browse GitLab. He is not able to use the search, order or filter features to create customized views.
Besides the general feature request, my current use case is to generate a bi-weekly report to our customer, what issues in a milestone were closed and what are open and will be moved to the next bi-weekly milestone. We have all the information in GitLab, but we need to retype it into e.g. Microsoft Word so we can generate a report that can be archived and send via email.
In all these cases we would prefer to generate a report from GitLab, so we can document, archive and share a custom view to GitLab entities. I would like to see a features that generates (PDF) reports from:
- issues
- list of issues
- board of issues
- milestones
- burndown chart
- list of assigned issues
- list of open vs. closed issues
- epics
- list of epics
- list of issues in an epic
- merge requests (MRs)
- list of MRs
- list of commits
Proposal
Add a PDF generator to render GitLab entity views as described above into a downloadable file. The PDF file should contain links to the original content.
