Customer user accounts that don't count as active users when it comes to licensing fees
Description
- I want to provide customers access to the GitLab issue tracker.
- They should be able to open issues and comment in issues of a specific project.
- They should be maybe able to see milestone process.
- They don't need any GitLab EE features.
Currently I would have to pay extra for each of these customer accounts which makes no sense to me.
Current Solutions:
- Downgrade back to CE (even thought I would be more than willing to pay for all developer users)
- Use a second GitLab CE instance just for issue tracking (Which will be kinda heavy for just that purpose and I would be forced to use URL's instead of GFM GitLab References which is totally stupid)
- Use another issue tracker
- Tell the client it is not possible
For me the downgrade seems to be the best option because I'm a single developer and the extra features are more support of GitLab than requirements for my workflow. Options 2. and 3. are defeating lots of benefits GitLab has to offer ...
Proposal
Don't count external users as active users when it comes to licensing fees or add a special customer user role.
