Add syntax highlighting for Autoit3 files
Problem to solve
.au3 script documents do not receive syntax highlighting when web viewed in Gitlab's UI.
Autoit is a general purpose simple script language for automating tasks on Windows machines. The language has been around for a long time (20 years+) and is quick, simple, easy to learn and use. .au3 is the file extension the language uses.
Here is an example of an au3 script file: Ttray.au3
To view an example of how the highlighting could be, use Microsoft Visual Studio Code to open an autoit script file and install the Autoit addon (Code should prompt you to install once you open a .au3 file for the very first time.)
Intended users
Autoit script writers. Users of the Autoit Forums who develop their code in public.
Further details
Adding syntax highlighting for this file type offers a simple quality of life improvement and better accommodates Autoit script files inside repositories.
Proposal
Adapt existing syntax highlighting code and integrate it into Gitlab. The MS VS Code addon or the Scite syntax highlighting plugin for Autoit are both good places to look for pointers.
