Add a (sub)group to another (sub)group: Logical groupings of members to add to groups and subgroups
Problem to solve
You can add a defined subgroup or group of users to a project, but you're not able to add the same group to another group. Subgroups/groups should be logical groupings of defined members and projects. Right now, adding a group of users to a logical group of projects is more overhead than needed to manage permissions.
Intended users
All users. I can see this being applicable to teams that outsource work to a group or are part of a large organization that are looking to collaborate.
Further Details
In large environments where this is a prevalent issue, it can take someone hours to add one group of developers to all of the projects they need access to.
Proposal
Create a way to add a group of members to another group - this includes subgroups. This is already possible with (sub)groups that can be added to projects.
This would help cut down administrative overhead of managing permissions to groups/projects.
Permissions and Security
Maintainer and above.
What does success look like, and how can we measure that?
Team's that have 1:many projects can add a group of people to a group or subgroup with minimal effort, without having to spend time writing automation to add people to numerous people to (sub)group(s) or adding one group to many projects.
