Project import with "minimal operating mode"
Problem to solve
Importing simple projects from different versions of Gitlab
We're trying to migrate quite a lot of projects from an old instance of Gitlab 9.5.8 to an up-to-date instance. All of our projects so far on the old one consist only of source code/commits. No wiki, no issues, nothing fancy ; not even CI pipelines.
I'm not sure what the limitations are, but we would enjoy very much the possibility to import older projects with a kind of warning "only the following will be imported : source code, wiki, etc.". Then to import what's possible to import. I want to believe or need is quite basic regarding versioning and can be met between two different versions.
What does success look like, and how can we measure that?
We can import a project from Gitlab 9.5.8 to the latest version (it's kept up-to-date).

I didn't find any issue relating to this, apologies if it already exists.
