Improve UX of Project Selector component
The project selector component is used in the Operations, Environments and Instance Level Security Dashboards to add projects to those dashboards.
The UX of the component isn't ideal: it's not clear which projects have been selected and will then be added once the "Add projects" button is clicked.
This video is taken from the Instance Level Security Dashboard #6953 (closed), though a very similar experience can be seen on the Operations or Environments Dashboards:
There are two different possible solutions to this that seem obvious:
- selected projects are immediately added to the dashboard, so that there's no "Add projects" button needed anymore
- I don't know if this would have performance implications, e.g., if adding/removing projects triggers some expensive operation on the backend
- a running list of selected projects is displayed while the user searches for/selects them, and the "Add projects" button is placed such that it corresponds to that list, making it clear which projects would be added.
