Add GitLab into the Azure Active Directory application gallery for wider SSO support
Problem to solve
Provide more general access to the Single Sign On (SSO) feature for Azure Active Directory users by publishing GitLab in the Azure Active Directory application gallery.
Adding a non-gallery application for SSO integration requires an Azure Active Directory Premium license. Our particular organisation uses Microsoft 365 Business which includes a subset of Premium features but not the ability to add non-gallery applications. Gallery applications can be configured for SSO with this license.
Intended users
This could be used by any Azure Active Directory based company but specifically sysadmins with control over security and access to corporate systems.
Further details
Integrating GitLab into the gallery can be done using the instructions at this URL: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/develop/howto-app-gallery-listing
Proposal
By following a one time process with Microsoft to integrate GitLab as detailed in the link above, you will have a presence in the application gallery allowing any of your customers to integrate your service into their cloud infrastructure. GitLab already supports SAML2.0 so the integration into the app gallery should be fairly straightforward.

Documentation

Testing
GitLab supports the functionality already so there shouldn't be any disruption to the service by publishing in the app gallery.
What does success look like, and how can we measure that?
Success can be measured by the app being available for public use within the gallery.
What is the type of buyer?
As Silver is the first tier to support SSO I would suggest this is incorporated into that tier.
