## Background
Elastic announced their [9.0.0-rc1 release](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elastic-stack/9.0/release-notes-elasticsearch-9.0.0.html), and we can expect their final 9.0 release soon. According to their [EOL policy](https://www.elastic.co/support/eol), they may not provide support for 7.x. So, we may also drop Elasticsearch 7.x as supported Elasticsearch versions in GitLab deployment.
## What to do
- [ ] Create a deprecation notice in release post in GitLab release N.
- [ ] Create a removal of support in release post in GitLab release N+2.
- [ ] Update [Elasticsearch integration](https://docs.gitlab.com/integration/advanced_search/elasticsearch/) documentation accordingly
