The work of https://gitlab.com/groups/gitlab-org/-/epics/10249+ was initiated as a potential solution to the workflow problem of approvals being removed during a rebase even if there were no *actual* changes in the diff. That change was rolled out via the [`reset_approvals_patch_id` feature flag](https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/426874) and fully delivered in %16.7. The goal of this issue is to collect any feedback on user's experiences with the new system for detecting changes in the diff. We of course also welcome any ideas, suggestions, or additional use cases for leveraging `patch-id`, and would encourage you to leave them on the [project epic](https://gitlab.com/groups/gitlab-org/-/epics/10249) so they're not lost.
