Gitlab has 95% of the stuff that makes a blog site - the issues have simple markdown, you can insert images into text, add likes, comment, like comments, etc. What I would like to see is - issue type 'blog entry' or something like that - an entry page for non-tech users that shows popular/recent activity for these 'blog entry' type issues - pinned posts picked by administrator/editor for this entry page in addition to the recent/popular - some way for non-technical users to write blog entries without getting lost in too much detail
