Elasticsearch 7.0.0 was [released](https://www.elastic.co/blog/elasticsearch-7-0-0-released) in April of 2019 by Elastic. Currently GitLab supports Elasticsearch 5.6 and 6.x, but will be [dropping support for 5.6](https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/issues/33572) with the release of GitLab 12.7. GitLab should provide support for the latest version of Elasticsearch.
