Autoclosing epics

  • An epic should be autoclosed if all these conditions are satisfied:
    • All its immediate child issues are closed.
    • All its immediate child epics are closed.

This logic should be enacted/triggered when the above conditions happen. For example, when the last child issue is closed in an epic, GitLab should check, and that should trigger the epic to close automatically.

Due to subepics nature, you can have bubble up effects up the tree.

Note that auto-reopening epics is out of scope. So for example, if an issue in a closed epic is re-opened. Or if you add an open issue to a closed epic, nothing should happen.
