Aliasing for role names
Problem to solve
In https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/issues/42751, GitLab renamed the Master role to be the Maintainer role. I've heard of some users experiencing undesirable changes as a result: they find the change confusing, it breaks their documentation, and hurts trained behavior/culture of valuing a Master as a knowledgable user.
Proposal
Consider aliasing in GitLab, or allow an instance to customize names for Roles in a config file.
