[Release Post] GPT-5 Available via Model Selection

description: OpenAI GPT5 is now available as GitLab AI Vendor model for all Duo features, to include both Duo Agent Platform and classic Duo features, using Model Selection. When allowed by namespace administrators on GitLab.com, end-users can choose to use GPT5 for use with GitLab Duo features. Namespace administrators can continue to set organization-wide model preferences through namespace settings, or allow end-user to choose from all available GitLab AI Vendor models.

To get started using GPT5, look for the model dropdown in GitLab Duo Chat to select your preferred model.
