Docs: clarification on supported Windows version for gitlab-runner

Problem to solve

From https://docs.gitlab.com/runner/executors/docker/#supported-windows-versions It explicitely states that the 2 supported version for Windows are:

  • Windows Server 2022 LTSC (21H2)
  • Windows Server 2019 LTSC (1809)

GitLab Runner only supports the following versions of Windows which follows our support lifecycle for Windows:

Yet following the link support lifecycle of Windows: https://docs.gitlab.com/runner/install/support-policy/#windows-version-support

We can read in the table that the windows version:

GitLab officially supports LTS versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems and so we follow the Microsoft

Below is a list of versions that are commonly used and their end of life date:

Operating system	Mainstream support end date	Extended support end date
Windows Server 2019 (1809)	January 2024	January 2029
Windows Server 2022 (21H2)	October 2026	October 2031
Windows Server 2025 (24H2)	October 2029	October 2034

The question from reading this other page, is the version Windows Server 2025 (24H2) supported? If so why is it no listed in the first page?

Further details

N.A.

Proposal

If Windows Server 2025 (24H2) is officially supported we shall amend the https://docs.gitlab.com/runner/executors/docker/#supported-windows-versions documentation page.

If Windows Server 2025 (24H2) is not supported we shall remove it from the table of the following page: https://docs.gitlab.com/runner/install/support-policy/#windows-version-support

Who can address the issue

Documentation team, or I could make an MR after clarification.
