get_pipeline_errors tool erroring

Problem

We're seeing a high amount of failures with the get_pipeline_errors tool erroring out.

In some cases this happens in sessions that then also encounter a critical failure in others it doesn't.

Desired Outcome

We understand wether the error in get_pipeline_errors is indeed responsible for the crash of individual sessions.
